| Producing ~150,000 metric tons/year of low -silica abrasive grade calcined bauxite, the Nanchuan Bauxite Mine is the largest abrasive grade bauxite producer in China. Located in southwest Chongqing Municipality - which was formerly a part of Sichuan Province - the ore reserves have been certified at 20 million tons. |

| Mining |

The
mining plan is through systematic underground excavation, following a
concentrated ore bed of 2 to 3 meters thick. Operations are presently
at 800 meters underground. After pneumatic drilling,
raw bauxite ore is brought to the surface in small railcars containing 5 metric tons. |
After primary crushing, the raw bauxite is mixed with coal and fed into vertical downdraft kilns - the same method of calcining so commonly seen throughout all the bauxite producing regions in China.
Thirteen downdraft kilns, having 13 meters height and 3.2 meters width, are spaced 30 meters from each other into the side of the mountain. During calcining, the bauxite maintains a residence-burning time of about 2 days, followed by 2 days for cooling. The calcined bauxite is then hand-selected and sorted according to alumina content and density.

| Crushing and Drying |
|
Selected calcined bauxite, having a lump size between 5 - 200 mm, is shipped in 10 ton truckloads a distance of 35 klms - from the mine to the Shuanglong Refractory Materials Factory, near the town of Nanchuan. At this location, which includes a stockpiling-distribution yard, the abrasive grade bauxite is crushed and checked for quality and moisture. If the moisture content is above one percent, the material will be dried through a rotary dryer to insure that the moisture content meets the specification - especially during the rainy season June to September. |
| For export shipments to North America and Europe, the 'Big Mountain' brand abrasive grade calcined bauxite is shipped in covered railcars from the Nanchuan distribution yard to the south China port of Fangcheng - a distance of approx. 1,000 klms - where it is stored in covered warehouses prior to shipment in bulk, in lots of 18,000 - 30,000 metric ton |
| ~50,000 metric tons/year of 'Big Mountain' brand abrasive grade bauxite, sized 0 - 30 mm, is shipped 45 klms by truck to the Nanchuan Fused Alumina Factory, where it is used as feedstock to produce brown fused alumina. |
