Owing to its' rich abundance of bauxite resources, China has a long history of brown fused alumina production - dating back to the 1940s. In 1999, the BFA production in China approached ~500,000 tons, representing about 45 percent of world production.

The Nanchuan Jingshan Fused Alumina Factory is the third largest producer of brown fused alumina in China, producing a total of 35,000 metric tons/year of refractory and abrasive grade BFA.

After four days of cooling, the lumpy brown fused alumina passes through a primary jaw crusher.

Semi-crushed material   is processed through three production lines - involving Barmac 
crushers, roller mills and ball mills - with magnetic separators linked to each operation. 
                          

Nanchuan Jingshan produces 25 - 30,000 metric tons/year of two grades of 'Golden Mountain' brand refractory grade BFA, in a variety of mm and mesh sizes.

Nanchuan Jingshan also produces 5 - 10,000 metric tons/year of 'Golden Mountain' brand abrasive grade BFA - in a full range of grits to FEPA and ANSI specifications.

Trial work has also started to produce grey and white fused aluminas.

Finished products are shipped in bulk, or in 1,000 kilos bulk bags, either to the north China port of Xingang - a distance of around 2,000 klms - or to the south China port of Fangcheng. Before loading on vessels at the port of Xingang, all 'Golden Mountain' brown fused alumina products are warehoused and rechecked for quality and any repackaging requirements - at the Tianjin Xiaoshan Minerals Processing Factory.
